The CFA's annual general meeting will start with a light breakfast social at check-in, 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, in LB 321. The meeting will get underway at 9 a.m. next door in LB 322. In addition to AGM business and budget items, highlights include door prizes, a barbecue lunch, and farewell to Ed Lavalle. Watch your email for the agenda package, which will be sent a few days ahead of the meeting. Be sure to reserve a spot by sending a quick email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and keying "AGM Yes!" in the subject line.
Rick Gale, vp academic and provost, will attend the upcoming CFA general meeting on April 11 between 11:40 and 12:50 to address questions about section assignments. For a full agenda, check your email folder dated April 5, 2017.
The Faculty Association held its annual executive elections yesterday, March 21, and the following members were elected: Brent Calvert, president; Joanne Quirk, chief steward; Anthea Mallinson, vice president; Stephen Williams, assistant chief steward; Chris Gratham, professional affairs officer; Michael Begg, membership, communications, and committees officer; Sandra Seekins, secretary; Colin Gilker, non-North Vancouver member at large. The treasurer position is currently vacant and a member with well-rounded accounting experience is sought. The aforementioned executive team begins serving the membership on August 1, 2017. The CFA executive team is elected for one academic year at a time. On Tuesday, March 21, nine members will be elected to serve durng the academic year 2017/2018, beginning August 1, 2017. Nominations can be made from the floor and all elections will take place in LB 322 at the general meeting, from 11:40 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Faculty must sign-in and confirm their CFA membership in order to vote (a signature is all that's necessary).
