In memory of the missing and murdered Indigenous women and the 14 female engineering students who were murdered at Montreal's L'Ecole Polytechnique, in December 1989, a memorial ceremony will take place in LB 195 (CSU lounge) from 11:30 to 11:45. a.m., December 4, 2017.
This event is jointly sponsored by the Women's and Gender Studies department, the Capilano Women's Collective, and First Nations Student Services.
Following the ceremony, short documentary films will run until 2:30 p.m.: After the Montreal Massacre, National Film Board of Canada (2012), The Unsolved Murder of Leah Anderson, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (2015), December 6th: Canada's National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, by Christine McDowell (2006).

The fall deadline for the John Wilson Award is 4 p.m., October 13, 2017. The award, which is granted each term, provides partial Capilano U standard-tuition reimbursement. It is offered to dependant children of regular faculty members and non-regulars who are teaching at least two sections during the academic year in which the application is submitted. Partial reimbursement is also available for retired faculty members who take continuing studies programs at Capilano University.
