How Cap-conscious is the North Shore? New location for event

Two faculty members, Laurel Whitney and Brent Calvert, are members of the Blue Ribbon Committee, a citizens' action group dedicated to discussing events that shape the culture of the North Shore and Squamish-Whistler corridor.

On Wed, Nov 13, 2013, at 7 p.m., there will be a public town hall event entitled "Reconnecting the Community with Capilano University."  Members of the Squamish Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting the event with Parker Buswood, who is a CapU alumnus and winner of the Governor General's Academic medal.

Advanced Education critic MLA David Eby will be in attendance, and there will be open-mic opportunities for anyone wishing to take part.

Posters around campus show the venue as the North Vancouver City Hall Atrium; however, that venue is no longer open to this presentation. The new location is the Eagles Hall, 170 3rd Street West in North Vancouver, just west of Lonsdale.
