John Wilson Award (formerly CFA Award)
This award is for Capilano University students who are children of regular faculty, or non-regular faculty who are teaching at least two sections in the year of the application, or who are retired Capilano faculty members. The award provides partial reimbursement for standard, domestic, credit-course tuition (or Continuing Studies for retirees) and is issued three times a year. Applications for Fall Spring 2023 awards open on January 18, 2023 and the deadline is 4:00 p.m. February 14, 2023. Please send a current Spring 2023 transcript, proof of payment for standard tuition (or continuing studies courses for retirees) and the completed application, to the CFA office in Fir 501e.
Applications will be accepted between January 18, 2023 and 4:00 p.m. February 14, 2023 only.

Faculty Professional Development
Faculty Professional Development
The Common Faculty Professional Development Fund (the PD Fund) supports various types of professional development, creative and scholarly activities for the maintenance and development of faculty members’ professional competence and effectiveness. The purpose is to assist faculty to remain current and active in their discipline and program.
Funds are allocated for reimbursement of expenses incurred by faculty members. All faculty members can apply for funding (Reg. or Non-Reg.); however priority is given to faculty with 4 sections or more per year and who have not received funding in the past 2 years. The maximum allowable funding is $2500 per faculty member per funding period.
PD funding proposals are accepted twice per year:
•Spring Call (Mid-Feb to mid-March): For PD activities taking place from April 1 – August 31
•Fall Call (Late Aug – mid-Sept): For PD activities taking place from September 1 – February 28

Non-Regular Faculty Resources
The Capilano University Faculty Association has been working with members to demystify the collective agreement's language about Regularization for faculty members at Capilano University. We are supporting a group of non-regular faculty to form a Non-Regular Committee. This committee is comprised of Capilano Faculty and is in the process of setting Terms of Reference and gathering resources. With the guidance of the NReg committee we hope to have resources shared among various platforms including the CFA website and the Capilano University Human Resources website. In the meantime we can share recently developed resources on this platform. Please see the information sheet and PDF'd PowerPoint presented at recent Regularization Training sessions held jointly with Chairs, Coordinators, Convenors, CFA Stewards Office, and Human Resources.
